Dressmakers and tailors in the Eastern Region have been advised to
continuously upgrade their skills with new innovations in order to attract more customers.
This according to the Chief Executive Officer of tsikarts and Sheeba Links, Mr. Eric Tsikata, will make them more skillful and increase the profit they make.
He stated the flooding of imported clothing and dresses coupled with the advent of boutiques is a great challenge dressmakers and tailors should consider.
Mr. Tsikata was speaking at a seminar organized to by Tsikarts and Sheeba Links to enhance the skills of Tailors and dressmakers in the region and also to teach them how to use their profession to create wealth for themselves.
“Never feel big to learn new things, read more books related to your profession and if you don’t know how to read let someone help you and attend courses and workshops too. Look good yourself and let your trainees or apprentices look good in anything they wear, give then the best of training and your customers the best of counsel? he noted.
He advised them to produce quality and stylish designs and dresses that are standard and world class. He told the dressmakers not limit themselves to producing for their customers only but should go the extra mile by producing for boutiques and shop in in order to get better income.
Mr. Tsikata urged the dressmakers to also aim high by crossing the borders of ordinary clients into the international market.
“Do not? hesitate to participate in exhibitions for more exposure and contacts”, he added.
Mr. Eric Tsikata is a successful businessman, an author and philanthropist who has two books to his credit titled;? The master key of wellness? and ?The amazing art of looking good and more beautiful?.
Recently, Mr. Tsikata donated bags of cement to the Ghana National Association of Tailors and Dressmakers Association in aid of the garment factory which is being built for the association in Osabene, a suburb of Koforidua in the Eastern Region.
