Ivory Coast captain Didier Drogba said that he is confident his team will clinched their ticket for the finals of the 2014 Fifa World amid grudges from fans and officials against the Elephants following their 4-1 loss to Mexico on Wednesday in a New Jersey friendly match.
The former Chelsea star, who returned to the outfit this week after six months of absence, said he is aware of the problems and fears from fans but assured the team will scale through to the next round of the qualifying to book a place in the upcoming World Cup.
?I know the general feelings right now. I know people are not happy with us. However, I?m sure we will be able to qualify to the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil and this will help us to win back trust and love,? Drogba said.
?We are through to the third round of the qualifying but we still have one final match of the second round against Morocco next month at home and we?ll try to do our best to make fans happy.?
The Galatasaray forward said his teammates are willing to do their best to help Ivory Coast qualify for their third World Cup.
Drogba led the outfit to their first finals in 2006 in Germany. They also participated at the South Africa 2010.
