The Eastern Region will host the second edition of the 2024 Regional Townhall Meetings and Exhibitions on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the Centre for National Culture in Koforidua.
This event aims to highlight and discuss the achievements of the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia administrations.
The town hall meetings, organized by the Ministry of Information, are designed to foster citizen engagement and promote inclusive governance.
The initiative began at the Teachers’ Hall in the Greater Accra Region on August 6, 2024.
The inaugural meeting provided a platform for government officials to interact with the public, answer questions, and present updates on developmental projects.
Regional Minister Daniel Titus Glover, Finance Minister Dr Mohammed Amin Adam, and Information Minister Fatimatu Abubakar outlined key projects and government initiatives, including economic stabilization and regional infrastructure improvements.
The upcoming meeting in Koforidua will continue this engagement, offering residents an opportunity to interact with government officials such as Eastern Regional Minister Seth Kwame Acheampong, Deputy Minister for Finance Dr Alex Ampaabeng, and Presidential Advisor on Health Dr Anthony Nsiah-Asare.
Attendees will have the chance to address healthcare, education, and infrastructure development issues while exploring various projects on display.
This Koforidua event is part of a nationwide series that will cover all 16 regions and culminate in a national forum.
At this forum, feedback and recommendations from each region will be consolidated and presented to the government for potential implementation.
The Ministry of Information views these town hall meetings as crucial for bridging the gap between the government and the public and ensuring that governmental actions align with the needs and expectations of citizens across Ghana.
