International activist and anthropologist Hassan Ghazaly, representing Egypt, delivered a keynote address titled “The Egyptian Experience in Youth Parliamentary Engagement” at the BRICS Young Legislators Forum in Novgorod, Russia.
The forum, part of the BRICS Cities and Municipalities Twin Forum, was inaugurated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and highlighted parliamentary cooperation among BRICS nations.
Ghazaly emphasized Egypt’s efforts in youth legislative training and integration, noting the role of institutions like the National School for Cadre Preparation.
This institution plays a crucial role in fostering international leadership by providing comprehensive training and exposure to global issues. He underscored the significance of youth empowerment through state initiatives and civil society organizations, advocating for global solidarity values.
The forum, a precursor to the BRICS Parliaments Forum in St. Petersburg, focused on enhancing multilateral parliamentary cooperation and promoting global democracy.
Russian President Putin highlighted the forum’s theme of parliamentary roles in fair global development and security, stressing the importance of parliamentary dialogue within the BRICS framework and reassuring the audience about the state of global governance.
