Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Wednesday addressed Ethiopia’s parliament in the capital of the East African nation, underlining need for Ethiopia and Egypt to work together for progress and prosperity of the two countries.

The Egyptian president said in his speech that Ethiopia and Egypt have had long-standing and historic ties, and underlined the need for the peoples of the two countries to write new chapter in the history of bilateral relations of the two countries.
Sisi vows to deepen cooperation with Ethiopia on issues like security and infrastructure.
Sudan, Egypt and Ethiopia has signed a document concerning the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), which Ethiopia is building on Blue Nile.
During a joint press conference after meeting with Sisi on Tuesday here in Addis Ababa, Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn said the signing of the agreement is a landmark, which is the basis for all future engagements of the countries.
Sisi told Ehiopia’s parliament that the agreement should capitalize on the common features that bring together Egypt, Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan in the context of the Eastern Nile Basin, and utilize common resources to overcome the problems and realizing mutual benefits. Enditem
