Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, asserted that his party’s record surpasses that of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its leader, John Dramani Mahama.
Speaking at the NPP manifesto launch in the Western Region on August 18, Dr Bawumia urged supporters to take pride in the party’s accomplishments as they gear up for the 2024 elections.
He highlighted the NPP administration’s infrastructure, education, healthcare, and digital transformation achievements.
Notable initiatives included the Free Senior High School policy, the One District One Factory program, and the digitalization of public services, which Dr. Bawumia cited as proof of the party’s commitment to improving Ghanaians’ lives.
“Our track record stands superior to my opponent’s,” Dr. Bawumia declared.
“If there was any doubt, it is now clear from the data-backed evidence we have provided that our performance and achievements outshine those of my opponent and his party across nearly every sector.”
Dr. Bawumia also defended the NPP’s economic management amid global challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and rising inflation, praising the party’s resilience and ongoing efforts to mitigate hardship and support economic recovery.
He criticized the NDC for failing to fulfil promises made during its office, particularly concerning power shortages and economic instability—issues he claimed the NPP has successfully addressed.
Dr. Bawumia urged NPP members to emphasize these successes as they campaign.
He called for unity and dedication within the party as they prepare for the elections, encouraging members to stay focused on achieving victory for the NPP.
“The choice we present to Ghanaian voters on December 7 is clear: compare our vision and roadmap with the plans of the opposition,” he said.
