Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that finalizing the voters’ register is still in its early stages.
In a statement, the Commission reassured the public of its commitment to producing a robust and credible voters’ register, emphasizing that such a register is essential for the integrity of elections and the preservation of national peace.
The EC expressed willingness to engage further with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to address any concerns and ensure proper procedures are followed.
This announcement follows the NDC’s nationwide demonstration on September 17, during which participants presented petitions at the Commission’s regional offices to express their dissatisfaction with the current voters’ register.
The NDC advocates for a forensic audit of the voter roll, citing the need for transparency and accuracy ahead of the upcoming elections.
