?Electoral Commission Needs Our Prayers? – Akufo-Addo

The 2012 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo-Addo, is calling on Christians across the country to pray for Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC) as they prepare to hold presidential and parliamentary elections in the country later this year.

Nana Addo, who is currently campaigning in his home region with his ‘hope tour’ has said “the EC need all our prayers to be able to conduct the elections in a manner that will be acceptable to all.”

The NPP Presidential Candidate, Nana Addo made these comments, Sunday, when he visited the Pentecost, Methodist and the Presbyterian Churches all in Mepom in the Upper West Akim constituency to fellowship with them.

He said “as part of my tour I have come to join you this Sunday morning to fellowship and pray with you.”

“I have only two prayer requests. I request humbly that you pray for the Electoral Commission, that God will touch their hearts and minds so that they will conduct the December 7 elections in an open, transparent, free and fair manner.”

Nana Addo noted “that way, winners and losers alike, will readily accept the outcome of the elections, leaving everybody satisfied with the end.”

“My second prayer request” Nana Addo added “is that you remember your son and servant, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, that God himself will give me the strength, courage, compassion and most of all the wisdom to be able to discharge my duties to the satisfaction of all.”

The congregations accordingly prayed for Nana Addo and the EC.

Nana Addo also reiterated his policy of providing free senior high school education to the congregation.

He said it is important that we give all our children access to free quality education, to develop their God given potential and give them the opportunity to develop themselves, their families and the country as a whole.

The NPP presidential candidate is in the Eastern Region with his ‘hope tour’ and is expected to continue with the Lower West Akim and Akwatia constituencies, Monday and Tuesday respectively.
