The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) conducted on Monday its First Level Check (FLC) of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).

The move was made in the presence of political parties and the Namibian Police as preparations for the November 27 plebiscite gathers momentum.

ECN said in a statement that the purpose of the FLC is to ensure that any voting machine and any tabulator to be used at an election is in working order and that there is no defects in any of the voting machines or any tabulators.

Fifteen political parties will participate in the forthcoming elections for the national parliament while 11 candidates will battle it out for the presidency. Enditem
