The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ellembelle Mr Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has supported flood victims at Nzema Akropong with assorted relief items.

The relief items were 75 bags of rice, over 20 boxes of cooking oil, blankets, bales of secondhand clothing, to help mitigate the plight of residents who were heavily affected by the natural disaster.

The donation followed torrential rains a couple of weeks ago in which hundreds of residents were displaced and rendered homeless.

Making the presentation, Mr Buah who pledged to offer more assistance to the residents in times of difficulties said the gesture was to cushion the affected residents.

He was worried over the magnitude of the incident and described it as a serious natural disaster.
He said this was not the first time the Nzema Akropong community had flooded and recalled 2009 when the entire community was flooded with property destroyed.

Mr Buah appealed to the residents to relocate to a different location for safety and promised to liaise with the Ellembelle District Assembly to help them to do that.

The MP also pledged to support them with more relief items in the coming days.
Receiving the items on behalf of the victims, the Assembly Member of Nzema Akropong, Mr Anthony Eshun, thanked the MP for supporrting the victims and promised to deliver the items to only the flood victims appealing to other benevolent organizations and individuals to come to the aid of the victims.

In a related development, Ellembelle MP, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah visited Adubrim and Awiaso communities, where some houses were razed down because of the flood.

He presented some assorted food items and bales of secondhand clothing to the flood victims.
The MP advised them not to build in flood-prone areas and advised the communities not to dump waste into gutters as choked gutters was a recipe for flooding.

Mr. Armah-Kofi Buah appealed to the central government and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to support the flood victims in his constituency.
