The management of the Energy Media Group (EMG), the publishers of Energy Ghana Magazine (EGM) has paid a courtesy call to the Deputy Minister of Energy, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam at his office in Accra.
The visit offered the management of EMG the opportunity to introduce the magazine, the Energy Ghana (EG) and other subsidiaries of the company to the Deputy Minister.
The EMG also took the opportunity to inform the Deputy Minister about the upcoming Ghana Energy Awards which slated in December, 2017.
Mr. Henry Teinor, the Editor of the Magazine and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the EMG who led the delegation congratulated the minister for his recent appointment by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
According to Mr. Teinor, “it’s a great opportunity to meet you since you assume the Deputy Ministerial position. You have contributed immensely to the success of our magazine and for your experience in the energy sector, EMG decided to visit and congratulate you,” he added.
“It’s our pride and EMG is so happy to associate with you for some period. At a team EMG is proud of your leadership and quality. The team decided to be the first among the other partners to pay you a visit and congratulate you. EMG congratulates you and also let you know that we are fully in support of you,” said Mr. Teinor.
In his response, Dr. Amin Adam, the Deputy Minister of Energy in charge of Petroleum also congratulated the EMG team for been the first organization to visit and congratulated him.
He told the EMG team that there are equally good energy magazines competing out there and he believes that it will take great leadership to recognize it partners and to be able to reach out to them in order to build collaboration and further achieve corporation that allows them to have a competitive edge.
In order for the EMG to become one of the leading magazines in Africa and the world, Dr. Amin Adam admonished the team to position themselves very well with well focused strategic plans. “Let professionalism be your hallmark so that your activities will be recognized by international bodies,” he urged the team.
As a magazine promoting activities in the energy sector, Dr. Amin Adam asked the EMG team to get global view of what’s happening in the industry and inform it readers.
Touching on the Ghana Energy Awards, the Deputy Minister informed them to make sure that the award is different from the other awards in the country.
“Make sure you introduce a unique award from what others are doing. Let’s see your award more acceptable to many industry players. Don’t follow the trend as usual,” he added.
Prof. Thomas Man Akabzaa, the Chief Director of the Ministry and Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam received the magazine on behalf of the Ministry.
Dr. Amin Adam pledged the ministry’s support to enable local content to be competitive and recognize on global market which is one of the President Akufo Addo’s topmost priorities.
“In areas of partnership, the ministry’s doors are always open to EMG for any information needed to make a compelling publication,” he told the team.
The Deputy Energy Minister pointed out that there is the need for the energy sector to be marketed to the rest of the world of which the media especially EMG cannot be left out.
He further stated that “Ghana has the best brains and what the citizens need is to harness fullest potential inclusively in every facet of our economy. Government vision is to create the enabling environment to help businesses grow to which EMG is not an exception.”
The minister personally subscribed to the magazine.
