Emmanuel Clottey Cracking Under Pressure Ahead Of Al Alhy Clash

By Patrick Akoto

Striker Emmanuel Clottey says he is feeling the weight of expectations ahead of  Berekum Chelsea?s Caf Champions League reverse fixture against Al Alhy on Sunday.

The 24-year-old is just a goal shy of equaling Stephen Worgu?s 13-goals record set in 2008 after netting 12 times in 8 matches for the Ghanaian side.

The former Odense BK attacker enjoyed his first start for the Black Stars during Wednesday?s international friendly against China.

He admits he is cracking under pressure to surpass the achievement of the former Enyimba man but remains optimistic about their chances against the Cairo-giants.

?I have a lot of pressure on me but as a footballer, it?s our job so when you are about to go onto the field, you have to cool down and do what you want. I know God is going to help me to break that record,?Clottey said

?When we went there, the referee was not on our side, they did a lot of things to frustrate us. We managed but didn?t succeed. But I think in Ghana, we are going to succeed.?

The Berekum- based side must beat the record holders to revive their campaign after they were hammered 4-1 in Cairo two weeks ago while Al Alhy need a draw to qualify to the semi-finals with two games remaining in the group.
