A man was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of murder after a car crashed into a pub in Essex, southeast England, which left one dead and three others injured, local police said.

A 40-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of murder, grievous bodily harm with intent, death by dangerous driving and assault, Essex Police said.

Police officers were called to The Spinnaker pub in Colchester at 0050 GMT on Sunday.

A 36-year-old man died at the scene while three other people were taken to hospital.

One of them, a 34-year-old man, suffered life-changing injuries, Essex Police said, adding that the other two, a 34-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man, sustained minor injuries. Enditem
