13 Members of Delta Force, the vigilante group of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) have been fined GH¢31,200 by Kumasi Circuit Court for escaping police custody.

Each of the members are to pay GH¢2,400, failure to pay their fines will attract 3 years imprisonment.

The members who have been remanded to re-appear in court on April 20, 2017 signed a bond of good behavior for 6 months.

The Presiding Judge of the Kumasi Circuit Court 4 Justice John Ekow Mensah explained that he played leniency with the charges because they turned themselves in to the police and that they were first time offenders.

The group with the help of their colleagues freed the Court on Thursday when they were standing trial for assaulting the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator George Adjei.

They will re-appear for the assault case.
