Essien Invites Complete Real Madrid Squad To Ghana Event
Michael Essien has invited the whole Real Madrid team and his ?daddy?, Jos? Mourinho to the charity game on 8th June held in Accra, the capital of Ghana, the player?s home country.
The midfielder is the man behind the Game of Hope and inspiration, in which African players will play against the rest of the world.
For now, Luka Modric and Ricardo Carvalho, the two players closet to Essien in the Real Madrid dressing room, have confirmed their taking part in the game. ?I have sent invites to everyone, and hope they come?, he said.
Essien has also invited his friends at Chelsea, the club which he will be going back to after being loaned out to Los Blancos.
The Ghanaian is hoping that Mourinho, as he has done in the past, accompanies the player to Ghana and the charity event.
The first charity game that Essien organised was held in May, 2011 and was a total success.
All profits will go to fund the projects of the Michael Essien Foundation.
?Ghanaians love football, and I am sure that they will enjoy the match together with us,? the player said on the Chelsea website, where he is promoting the initiative.
?I can?t wait to see all the people together having a good time.?
Other players that have already confirmed their presence are Drogba, Adebayor, the Tour? brothers, Ciss?, Malouda and Ferreira, as well as ex football players Ginola, Weah, Mak?l?l?, Ljungberg, Ballack and Muamba, the ex-Bolton midfielder that was forced to retire because of a heart condition, and who will be the player of honour on the day.
