Ethiopia has earned 1.2 billion U.S. dollars during the first 11 months of the current Ethiopian Fiscal Year 2021/2022, an Ethiopian official said on Tuesday.
Shafi Oumer, Deputy Director General of Ethiopian Coffee and Tea Authority, said the government is working to further boost coffee export revenue, as well as overcome any obstacles to fulfill the government’s economic reform plan.
Oumer disclosed the coffee export earnings during a discussion he held with coffee sector stakeholders from Ethiopia’s Sidama, Southern and Oromia regions, the three largest coffee-producing regions in the East African country, reported state media outlet Ethiopia News Agency.
Coffee is Ethiopia’s leading export product. The country’s traditional top five coffee export destinations are Germany, Saudi Arabia, Japan, Belgium, and the United States. Enditem
