Ethiopia has received 210 million U.S. dollars in financial assistance for water related projects from World Bank, state affiliated media outlet Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC) reported on Tuesday.

FBC reported the World Bank financial assistance will go into developing underground water projects in low-land areas as well as into developing irrigation projects in Ethiopia.

The 210 million U.S. dollars financial assistance will be disbursed within a five years’ period, it reported

The Ethiopian parliament is expected to formally approve the 210 million U.S. dollars financial assistance agreement, which is part of a border plan by the World Bank to finance projects in low-land, water-scarce areas of East Africa.

Separately on Wednesday, Ethiopian Minister of Labor and Skills Development Muferiat Kamil announced Ethiopia is set to receive 200 million U.S. dollars financial assistance from the World Bank.

The 200 million U.S. dollars financial assistance will be channeled to projects that create high-quality job opportunities for Ethiopians. Enditem
