The Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) disclosed on Tuesday it has returned home 733 nationals from Saudi Arabia and Lebanon in recent days.

Dina Mufti, Spokesperson for MoFA, said 54 Ethiopians were returned home from Lebanon, while the rest 679 were returned home from Saudi Arabia.

Mufti said efforts to return stranded Ethiopian nationals from various foreign countries are continuing despite logistical challenges.

In recent months, Ethiopia has stepped up efforts to return home tens of thousands of its citizens stranded in various foreign countries. The government is also working to dismantle sophisticated human trafficking networks, as well as create economic opportunities for nationals with low incomes. Enditem
