Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn on Thursday warned social media users over unlawful and provocative actions for disseminating hatred information that targets peoples in Ethiopia.

Desalegn made the remarks while briefing members of the Ethiopian parliament concerning the east African country’s current state of affairs on Thursday.

He indicated that social media users are presently disseminating unwanted information that creates havoc among Ethiopian peoples.

The premier blamed inciting social media claims as a major anchor for various ethnic clashes in the east African country, including the recent deadly clash along the borders of Ethiopian Somali and Oromia ethnic groups.

Desalegn also stressed that these provocative information disseminated by some social media users in the country are against the interest of social media organizations. Enditem
