Ethiopia’s sole telecom service provider, Ethio-telecom, has disclosed its three-year strategic plan, which seeks to boost the company’s competitiveness and efficiency by augmenting its clients to more than 50 million.
State-affiliated Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC) quoted Frehiwot Tamiru, CEO of Ethio-telecom, as saying on Saturday, that the company also seeks to increase its revenue to 45.4 billion Ethiopian birr (about 1.53 billion U.S. dollars) in the current fiscal year.
Ethio-telecom is the exclusive telecom service provider for the East African country, Africa’s second populous nation with a population of close to 105 million.
The state-owned company also recently announced 36.3 billion Ethiopian birr in revenue in the recently concluded 2018-2019 Ethiopian fiscal year, which marked a seven percent increase as compared to the previous fiscal year. Enditem
