The short-term observation team will complement 24 long-term observers and its core team that had been in the country since June 29.
Cecile Kyenge, head of the mission said the deployment of such a huge number of observers was to ensure that more people are on the ground.
The observers will closely obtain reliable information on how voting, counting and tabulation will be conducted.
The observer team, she said, will be complemented by staff from member countries with offices in Zambia, bringing the total number of observers to more than 120.
According to her, the initial findings of the mission would be presented to stakeholders in Zambia while a comprehensive final report, two months after the end of the electoral process. Enditem
