After the conclusion of EURO 2024, an analysis of Instagram followers reveals substantial gains among players, highlighting their growing global influence.
Lamine Yamal of Spain emerged as the top gainer between July 11th and 15th, adding 1.958 million new followers, followed closely by Nico Williams, who gained 483,335 followers after his crucial performance in the final.
Yamal also led in cumulative gains since the tournament began on June 13th, amassing a staggering 6.2 million new followers. This surpasses the increase of Cristiano Ronaldo, known as the “Instagram king,” underlining the tournament’s impact on player visibility.
Collectively, Spanish players gained the most followers, totalling 11.7 million since the start of EURO 2024, followed by English players with 5.2 million new followers.
Players across all teams accumulated over 45 million new Instagram followers during the tournament, reflecting heightened global engagement with international football.
