NEW ZEALAND TO HOST APEC SUMMIT

The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit will be held by videoconference under the chairmanship of New Zealand.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to take part in the event.

During the summit, it is planned to discuss issues of post-pandemic recovery of the regional economies, as well as to determine the key areas of APEC’s work until 2040.

RUSSIA’S PUTIN TO TAKE PART IN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ‘ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE JOURNEY 2021’

Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in the international conference on artificial intelligence and data analysis, Artificial Intelligence Journey 2021, as part of the events marking the 180th anniversary of the biggest Russian bank, Sberbank.

The head of state will speak to the guests and participants of the conference, as well as get acquainted with the presentations of the finalists of the international competition on artificial intelligence for children.

US SECRETARY OF STATE TO MEET WITH QATARI FOREIGN MINISTER

Secretary of State Antony Blinken will welcome Qatar’s Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani as part of the fourth annual US-Qatar Strategic Dialogue.

According to the US Department of State, the parties will discuss issues of mutual concern, including regional stability, defense cooperation, public health, counterterrorism, climate change and economic cooperation.

RUSSIA-SLOVAKIA INTERGOVERNMENTAL COMMISSION TO MEET IN BRATISLAVA

The meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between Russia and Slovakia will take place in Bratislava.

At its 21st meeting, the Commission will discuss the results of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries over the past two years.

FRANCE TO HOST INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON LIBYA

France will receive an international conference on Libya a month ahead of the crucial elections that aim to put an end to a decade of civil war in the Middle-Eastern country.

RUSSIAN FOREIGN AND DEFENSE MINISTERS TO MEET WITH THEIR FRENCH COUNTERPARTS

France’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Minister of the Armed Forces will receive their Russian counterparts, Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Sergei Shoigu, on the sidelines of the International Conference on Libya in Paris as part of the Franco-Russian Cooperation Council for Security Issues.

The ministers are expected to discuss issues of strategic stability, European security and regional and international crises.

FRANCE’S MACRON TO MEET WITH MOLDOVA’S PRESIDENT

French President Emmanuel Macron will have a bilateral meeting with Moldovan counterpart Maia Sandu on the sidelines of the Libya conference.

Moldova’s head of state will also meet with Estonian President Alar Karis and Iceland’s leader Gudni Th. Johannesson.

EUROPEAN COMMISSION VICE-PRESIDENT TO PAY VISIT TO LONDON

European Commission Vice-President Maros Sefcovic will pay a working visit to London to discuss the implementation of the Protocol on Northern Ireland.

This will be the fourth meeting at such high level, following the commission’s package of far-reaching solutions for Northern Ireland three weeks ago.

2021 EMMY FESTIVAL TO START ON NOVEMBER 12

The 2021 International Emmy World Television Festival will take place online from November 12 – 22, 2021.

Traditionally, the festival had been an invite-only event, however, in 2020, for the first time it went online and was open to everyone. This year the festival will be held in the same way.
