Dr Ebo Hammond, Director, Health Administration and Support Services Division, Ghana Health Service (GHS) has called for the robust building of human resources to develop the country.

“We construct buildings, but human beings make the buildings work,’’ he said.

Dr Hammond made the call at the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) Global Alumni Ghana Chapter launch in Accra.

He said the nation must take advantage of the resources and capacity that “we lacked and were granted to the nation by foreign countries such as Korea to develop.”

The Director said when the fellows were sent to Korea, they returned well- resourced, and the nation used them to offer training to their colleagues who could not have the opportunity to travel to Korea.

He said networking was important since it helped to pull resources that individuals have to form a synergy, adding that when individual skills were put together, there were great achievements.‘Your network is your net worth’’ he said.

Dr Hammond encouraged Ghanaians to build networks in order to take advantage of assistance that were granted them.

Mr Lawrence Lawson, Director, Ministry of Health, said the establishment of the KOFIH Alumni association represented the Foundation’s commitment to provide a platform for members to maintain active networking and collaborative alliance.

He said it was also in line with the Ministry’s philosophy of leadership development as a continuous journey.

Mr Lawson, encouraged the fellows to take advantage of the Alumni network after all the resources and information that had been available to them through their membership.
