Ex-Ghana FA boss Nyaho Tamakloe has hit hard at coach Kwesi Appiah for calling 24-players for this weekend?s World Cup qualifier against Sudan describing it as ?excessive?.

The Ghanaian trainer announced a 24-man squad last week for the tricky tie against the Nile crocodile.

The former FA capo is unhappy with the pool of players invited for the game at the Baba Yara stadium.

?That?s too large, a squad of 24 players for one match. My argument is that the technical team are just doing try and error hoping to get right? Tamakloe told 90 Minutes newspaper

?Why 24 players? If you know the players and those that can play, why assemble this large numbers when you won?t have even a week to train together?

?I hope Kwesi Appiah knows what he is doing because to me a squad of 24 players is too large.

?To me, there no seriousness, you just finished a tournament and you still don?t have your team.

?Now just a week to just one World Cup qualifier, you?ve named 24-man squad including four newcomers.

?Let?s see what they can do but I have my fears about certain things.?

The Black Stars are trailing leaders Zambia by three points and must therefore negotiate the tie to put their campaign back on track.
