Any breach of the peace in the town during the elections would tarnish the hard won reputation of the area.
Mr Dan Bossoe, an Accra based Philanthropist and Chairman of “Friends of General Blay” an NGO operating in the area, said this over the weekend when he addressed the people during a fund raising ceremony in support of a development projects in the town.
The programme organized by the Chief and people of Ezinlibo as part of activities marking this year’s annual Kundum Festival was under the theme: “Peaceful Elections and Community Development”.
Mr Bossoe, who was the guest of honour at the event, donated GHC 5,000.00 and one hundred bags of cement to support development projects.
Earlier, the Chief of the town, Nana Kolorah Blay IV, said over the years the festival was celebrated as a social event that the situation has changed and now it is a period where development projects are initiated and implemented.
He said the community has in the last two years embarked on the construction of a 16- seater water closet facility, lorry park and a market to improve their lots.
Nana Blay said the water closet facility and market were at various stages of completion.
Earlier, Madam Kukuah Abbey, a Takoradi based resident of the town, was installed the development Queen Mother of the town.
Am amount of GHC 10, 000.00 was realized from the fund raising ceremony.
