GRASAG UEW Gender Commissioner,Abiba Asoma

Father’s just like mothers play an essential role in the lives of their families as well as protecting, providing, and nurturing their children.

Fathers are enjoined to provide for and protect his family. This leadership role conferred on fathers means that they must have the qualities of a leader. To be candid, the role fathers play can never be underestimated.

Fatherhood is a very important and serious responsibility, requiring a lot of physical, material, and emotional investments in the family, community, and the nation.

Honestly, fathers are the backbone of the family. Many of them strive to be able to care for their children. Hats off to all men…!

It is in this regard, special days are required to honour them for the enormous contributions they have made to their families and society as well.

However, we should not only appreciate them on only Fathers day. This love must continue unabated.

As we celebrate this special day, we are also calling on men to support women in all diverse ways to help address gender equality which has bedevilled women in so many areas of life.

However, I would like to seize this golden opportunity to wish my lovely husband Mr. Dasoli Ishmael Hassan, Happy Father’s Day.

May Allah bless you for your continuous love and guidance for our family and the many people who look up to you.

The day, which is observed on the third Sunday of June globally, has gradually been embraced in Ghana to complement the widely celebrated Mother’s Day event.

We ask God’s blessings for you all….!
