Ex-board and management member of ailing Premier League club Accra Hearts of Oak, Fawaz Zawk has expressed shock over the appointment of Japanese trainer Kenechi Yatshuhashi as the head coach of the team insisting Yaw Preko is better for the head coach role.
The 2000 CAF Champions League winners announced the appointment of the Japanese trainer last month with the former Black Stars winger Yaw Preko as his assistant but the former board member believes the Ghanaian is better placed than the Japanese.
Speaking in an interview on Otec FM in Kumasi fromm his base in Lebanon, Fawaz Zawk who was a member of the board when Hearts won the 2000 CAF Champions League sais he was shocked when he heard a Japanese has been appointed as the head coach of the team.
“I am not in Ghana but I have been reading and listening to everything. I was really surprised when I heard that the club has appointed a Japanese as head coach. If you have a coach like Yaw Preko and you make him an assistant to a Japanese, then I think something is wrong somewhere,” Zawk said.
“We are talking of Yaw Preko who has experience and knowledge about Ghana football and you make him an assistant. I don’t know whether we are moving forward or backwards.”
Zawk has earlier said the board must change their ways of managing the club to pave way for the former management members to come on board and help the club.
