Mitee to chair the National Stakeholders? group
The Federal Government has appointed a new set ofmembers to theNational Stakeholders Working Group of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI).
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Pius Anyim, said President Goodluck Jonathan approved the appointment of the new NSWG Members in accordance with the provisions of Section 6 (1), NEITI Act 2007,following the end of tenure of the former National Stakeholders Working Group (NSWG) of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI).
The NSWGnow has Ledum Miteeas Chairman,and some of the members include:Hajia Mariam Ibrahim;Dr. Kate Okparaeke;Isaac Boyi;Barr. Patrick Udonfang;Abiola Edenaike;?Abubakar Mahmud, SAN; and Engr. Musa Nashumi.
Othermembers are theChairmanofOPTS?(as representativeof Extractive Industry Companies);?National CoordinatorofPublish What You Pay, ?In Nigeria (Rep. of Civil Society);? President of PENGASSAN (Rep. of Labour Union);?Dominic Nwachukwu, MD, Ground Water Resources Ltd. (Expert in the Extractive. Industry);Bassey Ekefene, Group Managing Director (NNPC);and Executive Secretary (NEITI).
According to the Anyim, the new National Stakeholders Working Group will be inaugurated on Wednesday in the Conference Room of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Shehu Shagari Complex, Three-Arms Zone, Abuja.
