Accomplished Ghanaian actor Fiifi Coleman, renowned for his acclaimed productions such as “Dilemma of a Ghost,” “The SLAVES,” and “Sons and Daughters,” is set to captivate audiences once again with his latest theatrical venture, “PRISON GRADUATES.”

Written by the late Efo Kojo Mawugbe and directed by Coleman himself, “Prison Graduates” is a satirical exploration centred on four prisoners faced with a presidential pardon. The play cleverly juxtaposes contemporary economic challenges with the harsh realities of incarceration, promising a thought-provoking narrative.

Scheduled to debut at the National Theatre, the production boasts a stellar cast, including Naa Ashorkor, Mavis Abrokwah, Jacqueline Ama Ansah, and Queen Grace Adjetey. Performances are slated for July 26th at 8 pm and July 27th at 4 pm and 8 pm.

In an exclusive interview on Channel One TV’s entertainment program “The Chat,” hosted by Ekow Koomson, Fiifi Coleman shared insights into the immersive experience awaiting attendees. He revealed that the National Theatre will transform into a simulated prison environment, with prison officers doubling as ushers. Upon entry, audience members will find themselves metaphorically ‘jailed’ for the performance, as the auditorium doors will be secured until the play concludes, ensuring an engaged and involved experience for all.

Coleman expressed his excitement about bringing this unique concept to life, aiming to transport audiences into the emotional and psychological depths of the characters’ dilemmas. “Prison Graduates” promises theatrical excellence and challenges perceptions of freedom and choice within societal constraints, offering a unique and thought-provoking experience that will leave the audience intrigued and curious.

The play’s innovative approach underscores Coleman’s unwavering commitment to pushing artistic boundaries, ensuring an unforgettable theatrical experience for all who attend and leaving them inspired and excited about the future of theater.
