Fire in French Hotel Leaves 10 Wounded

A fire broke out in a hotel in the southeastern French town of Antibes overnight into Monday, leaving 10 people injured, media reported.

The France Bleu broadcaster, citing the regional firefighter service, reported that the fire erupted shortly after midnight in one of the rooms of the Appart City hotel occupying a 4-storey building.

The rescue teams evacuated 51 people from the facility, of whom 10 required medical assistance and were subsequently hospitalized. Seven people reportedly suffered smoke intoxication from the fire, and one victim sustained serious burns.
