FIRST Atlantic Bank is a full scale commercial bank with over twenty years of experience in Ghana. As part of First Atlantic Bank’s nationwide branch expansion strategy to bring its banking services closer to customers and businesses, it has on the 14th November, 2017, opened its 30th branch which is a five-story edifice at Osu Danquah Circle in the Greater Accra Metropolis.

This five-story edifice which becomes the headquarters annex and also houses the Osu Main Branch, would provide better financial products and services to the businesses and individuals in that area and across the length and breath of the capital city.

In her welcome address, the Board Chairperson of the First Atlantic Bank, Mrs. Karen Akiwumi-Tanoh stated, “Today’s launch of our second branch in Osu, which by the way, will also double as our Head Office Annex, is clear demonstration of our confidence in the future and our readiness to support the growth and needs of our customers in and around La, Labone, Cantoments, Osu and its environs.

Five years ago, in 2012 we could boast of a modest seven branches, mainly in Accra-Tema and in Kumasi. With the opening of Osu Main this afternoon, we now have 30 branches with a coverage stretching from Takoradi to Techiman.”

“We have positioned our bank as a partner for all!! Business men and women, Working people, young people, small and medium sized businesses, and corporate institutions both local and foreign.

We believe that this business model, our commitment to modernisation with world class securities, are the reason we do so well!

And are also the reason why we have attracted interest and investment from the renowned Africa Finance and Investment Group (AFIG), a leading private equity fund management company, registered in Mauritius.

We are excited to have received their backing at this critical phase in our growth,” Mrs. Karen emphasised.

She further added that, the bank’s broad objective is to create an institution which is relevant and responsive to the needs of all its customers.

“We are confident in our strategic recapitalization roadmap, which we believe will yield the needed results, well before the December 2018 deadline set by Bank of Ghana,” Mrs. Karen stated.

Mrs. Karen Akiwumi-Tanoh therefore reassured that, the First Atlantic Bank is well advanced in its plans to raise even more capital to indicate that, the bank has really come to stay.

She finally disclosed that, the 31st branch of the bank would be opened in Tamale, the Northern Regional capital on Thursday 15th November, 2017, at Changli on the hospital road.

The Board Chairman of Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL), Kwamena Bartels in his key note address, called on the management of the bank not to relent, but to continue to provide excellent products and services to their customers.

He therefore urged them that, they should let the services they deliver across all their branches, be a reflection of the values they stand for as an institution. And also added “let your presence here positively impact the lives of the people and businesses in the Osu area and its environs.”

Nii Kwabena Bonney V, Osu Alata Mantse who represented the Paramount Chief of the Osu Traditional area, Nii Okwei Kinka Dowuona, said the traditional authorities were looking forward to having a good collaboration with the bank. And also assured them of their support in all their endeavors.

In attendance of the opening were, representatives fro the various security services, stakeholders, shareholders, customers and to name a few.
