Flying Eagles are a stronger team now – Coach Garba

With exactly six days to their first fixture at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand, Coach Manu Garba has posited that the Flying Eagles are a stronger team now than they were at the Africa Youth Championship in Senegal earlier in the year.

The Flying Eagles, as the team is known, have departed for New Zealand from Germany, where they trained for three weeks and engaged in three tune-up games against the reserve teams of TSG Hoffenheim, Freiburg and Nurnberg ? winning all.

And Garba has beaten his hand on his chest confidently, saying they do have a stronger team than they did in Senegal.

?We are very, very optimistic that as African champions and with the strength of this team, we?re much stronger than the team who played at the African Youth Championship in Senegal,? he said.

?A player like Kingsley Sokari was not there in Senegal, a player like Iheanacho was not there, a player like Success was not there, Moses was not there, Wilfred Ndidi was not there and Nwakali wasn?t there. So we are set to make Nigeria proud.?
