Ghanaian midfielder Forson Amankwah has finalized his transfer from RB Salzburg to Norwich City, signing a four-year contract with an additional one-year option.

The 21-year-old expressed enthusiasm about his new chapter, stating, “I’m thrilled and excited to come to the club.

The head coach has worked with many young players, so it’s nice to be here working with him.”

Norwich City’s Sporting Director, Ben Knapper, highlighted Amankwah’s potential and versatility. “Forson is a talented and well-rounded player who will add quality to our squad.

His experience in the Champions League and with the Ghana national team makes him a valuable addition. We believe he is an excellent fit for us and are confident we can help him develop further,” Knapper said.

Amankwah’s transfer is contingent on international clearance and approval from relevant regulatory bodies.

Before his move to Norwich, Amankwah started his career at WAFA SC in Ghana before joining RB Salzburg in 2021. His tenure in Austria included loan spells at Liefering and Rheindorf Altach.

Amankwah debuted for the Ghana national team in March, earning 88 minutes in friendly matches against Nigeria and Uganda.
