Gbetsile, Feb 20, GNA — Share His Love Foundation, a Religious Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), based in Ghana and Qatar, has donated educational materials worth GHc5,000 to the Gbetsile TMA Number Two Primary School near Michel Camp.
The items include school uniforms, exercise books, pens, pencils, and sandals, among others.
Mrs Ruby Attricki, Director of the NGO, who presented the materials said, they were donations from loved ones in Qatar, Australia and Nigeria.
Mrs. Attricki said the donation would go a long way to complement government’s efforts at providing the basic needs of school pupils, to promote effective teaching and learning.
She promised the school authorities that the donation would not be a nine-day wonder, and that the NGO would make other donations to the school in future, to put smiles on the faces of the pupils.
Mrs. Cynthia Winifred Aku-Gbadago, Headteacher of the school, received the materials, and thanked the NGO for the gesture.
She assured the NGO that the items would be fairly distributed to the pupils.
Mr. Randy Bediako, an executive member of the NGO, advised the school children to take their studies seriously to become responsible future leaders.
Mr. Gabriel Kotei, Assistant Director, in charge of Supervision at the Tema Metro Directorate of the Ghana Education Service, who represented the Metro Director of Education, was optimistic that other public-spirited organizations and individuals would make similar donations to other schools, to help improve the quality of education in the Metropolis.
