Mr Rockson Kwesi Dogbegah, the Founder and Chairman of Berock Ventures Limited, a construction company, has received an award in Business Management in London, dubbed ?International Outstanding Achievement Award?.

Construction work has began on the site

He was honoured for his success in the construction industry, having founded and nurtured Berock Ventures into one of the most successful construction companies in Ghana.

The Award is the maiden recognition scheme by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), UK.

Mr. Dogbegah, Chairman of CIOB Ghana and Vice President for Africa, was honoured on November 25.

The ceremony preluded a conference under the auspices of CIOB, themed, ?Inspiring the Future of Construction?.

A CIOB statement said the International Outstanding Achievement Award competition, launched in June 2014, was to reward ?hidden heroes within project teams who have made outstanding contributions and changed things for the better.?

It has nine categories, covering virtually every phase of the building process and a wide spectrum of disciplines.

They are Procurement and Supply Chain, Building Standards, Design, Conservation and Adaptation, Facilities and Health and Safety management.

The rest are, People Management, Business Management and Outstanding Newcomer.

The statement said the panel of judges looked out for sparkling examples of initiative, leadership, and collaboration, as well as evidence that the awardee had gone beyond normal requirements of his or her job.

The panel also took the size of the company and geographical location into account.

Mr. Dogbegah, after receiving the Award, said it was time indigenous companies took over the commanding heights of business in Ghana stressing that ?after almost six decades of independence, the captains of industry should be Ghanaians!?

He said the growth of indigenous firms would spread wealth across the country because much of the revenue generated will stay within the Ghanaian economy.

Mr. Dogbegah said the honour would motivate him to continue to work hard and also support young entrepreneurs.

He commended all workers of Berock Ventures for their hard work and dedication to the values of quick and quality delivery of projects and urged them to keep up the team spirit.

Other award winners were from China, UK and Canada.
