The police in Nigeria on Friday declared wanted four masterminds of April’s bank robbery in central north city of Offa in Kwara State.
The police also placed them on INTERPOL watch list.
Though the names of the suspects have not been made public, the police attached their pictures from the robbery scene to a statement issued in Abuja, the country’s capital for ease of identification.
Armed robbers had attacked five commercial banks in Offa on April 5, during which 17 persons, including policemen and a pregnant woman were killed.
The police also promised to reward anyone with useful information on the suspects with rewards in addition to the 5 million naira (about 14,000 U.S. dollars) promised by the state government.
National police spokesperson Jimoh Moshood told reporters that the police had so far arrested more than 20 principal suspects in connection with the bank robbery. Enditem
