Four Ghanaian female internationals nominated for CAF Awards

Four Ghanaian internationals have been nominated in the 2022 Confederation of African Football (CAF) awards following a successful season for the quartet in 2021.

Doris Boaduwaa, Perpetual Agyekum and Evelyn Badu who were products of Hasaacas Ladies were nominated in the Women’s Player of the Year category, having won the Women’s Premier League (WPL), WAFU Zone B Championship, Women’s MTN FA Cup, Women’s Super Cup, First Lady’s Cup, and also emerged as runner-ups in the CAF Women’s Champions League all in 2021.

Janey Egyir, Hasaacas Ladies’ captain was also nominated in the Interclub Player of the Year category while Badu and Boaduwaa were again nominated in the Young Player of the Year category.

Having achieved much height in their various club levels, they also helped the Black Princesses of Ghana to book a qualification to the 2022 Federation of International Football (FIFA) U-20 Women’s World Cup tournament in Costa Rica.

Badu and Agyekum after the CAF Champions League, attracted the interests of Norwegian Toppserien side Avaldsnes IL as they signed off Hasaacas Ladies.

This is a huge boost for the Ghanaian internationals as they prepare for the forthcoming youth World tournament ahead of them.

The 2022 edition of the CAF Awards would come off in Morocco on Jul 21, 2022.
