Ga West acquires land to build a bus terminal

The Ga West Municipal Assembly has acquired a 19.63-acre land for the construction of a bus a terminal under the Urban Passenger Transport Project (UPTP) at Amasaman.


The Assembly had proposed to use some portion of the land to construct a modern Municipal Terminal on a public-private-partnership under the UPTP.

busMr. Sam Atukwei Quaye, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ga West, disclosed this at the first ordinary meeting of the Assembly at Amasaman.

He said the Assembly would partner with an investor to develop the terminal and as soon as the necessary processes were completed the project would commence.

“Furthermore, we have embarked on a number of activities to upgrade the transport services to facilitate the movement of passengers to and from Amasaman and also to ease traffic on the N6,” he said.

Mr. Quaye said to this end, various terminals and loading points at Afiaman, Festus Junction, Pokuase Junction, Amasaman Market and Nii Ankraman, all in the municipality had been earmarked for construction.
