Gabon’s Minister of Health Dr. Guy Patrick Obiang Ndong warned on Thursday of an “upsurge” in COVID-19 cases in the country, calling on the population to be vigilant and get vaccinated.
During a press briefing on Thursday in Libreville, the Gabonese capital, the minister said that around ten cases of COVID-19 were recorded per day in the past week, compared to five a day during the first two weeks in June, and only one case a day in May on average.
The minister said that sporting events, including the ongoing marathon in Port-Gentil, Gabon’s economic capital, are still maintained while calling on the participants to stay vigilant. Enditem
