The GaDangme Association of Washington Metro Area is marking a milestone: 40 years of cultural preservation, development, and unity.
This 40th-anniversary celebration will reflect the past four decades and testify to the resilience, spirit, and commitment of the GaDangme people.
The GaDangme Association of Washington Metro Area Chair, Rowina Moses, disclosed the 40th anniversary will kick off with an open Health Walk on Saturday, October 19th, 2024, at Burnt Mills West Park, 10701 Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, Maryland, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, with a medical screening on site.
As part of the Health Walk, the Association will officially launch the 40th-anniversary celebration which will climax with fundraising, a Dinner Dance, and an Awards Night that will recognize achievements and provide an opportunity for networking and advancement of the Association, followed by a church service next year September 2025.
The GaDangme community boasts its rich cultural heritage that has been preserved and celebrated through generations. This anniversary is an opportunity to honor the traditions, languages, and customs that define the GaDangme people. From vibrant festivals and traditional dances to the wisdom passed down through generations, the GaDangme heritage is a source of pride and unity.
Over the past 40 years, the GaDangme Association of Washington Metro has achieved significant milestones in education, healthcare, and economic development. These achievements are a testament to the Association’s collective efforts to improve the quality of life for its members.
The Association donates various items to schools, healthcare centers, and others that have played a crucial role in uplifting communities and fostering a sense of progress and empowerment.
