The opposition People’s Democratic Organization for Independence and Socialism (PDOIS) invited other opposition parties for a crunch meeting at Kairaba Hotel.
“We have responded positively to the invitation and I have the confidence that we will agree on about forming a united front against president Jammeh,” said an inter party committee executive.
“Another fruitful discussion will be held soon for the possible coalition with a single candidate,” he told Xinhua.
Last week, the opposition parties failed to agreed on a single candidate in the coming presidential election slated for December 1, with legislative and local polls to follow in April 2017 and April 2018.
Over 886,578 Gambians have been registered to vote in the election as opposed to 796,929 in the last election. Enditem
