George Lamptey, the president of the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) has appealed to corporate Ghana to support the Black Bombers in their preparations towards the next Olympic Games.

He said although the coronavirus epidemic has taken over everything, he is sure that things are going to be better.

He expressed that the Black Bomber proved to be among the best on the continent when they went for the Olympic Qualifiers in Dakar, Senegal where five of them went to the semi finals and two qualified to the big Games in Japan.

Mr. Lamptey thanked the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), the Ga Traditional Council and Ga Manste Nii Teiko Tsuru II and Alhaji Inusah for supporting the Black Bombers.

He also gave special mention to Geodrill, the mining company for getting airline tickets for some of the boxers and technical staff to make it to Senegal.

The GBF president appealed to other companies to support boxing as Ghanaian boxers have proved to be very good and medal hopes.

The two boxers who have qualified are young 19 year old Samuel Takyi from the Discipline Gym and skipper Sulemanu Tetteh who went to the Olympic Games in 2012 in London and want to win a medal this time.

Meanwhile, coach Asare has commended the media for supporting the Black Bombers and promoting the national amateur team.

He has asked the boxers to train at home by giving them special instructions to remain fit and healthy.
