The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, nicknamed General Mosquito, has called on the Zongo community not to vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, based on his political affiliation.
He spoke at a gathering at Asesewa Zongo in the Upper Manya constituency on day 2 of his 5-day campaign tour to the Eastern Region.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia alleged that the NPP has consistently worked against the interests of the Zongo people.
He described Dr. Bawumia’s candidacy as a “smoke screen” aimed at deceiving the community into voting for him.
He also claimed the NPP has a penchant for tearing people up by mixing politics with religion, which is dangerous for Ghana’s democracy and its people.
