German shares lost on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index down 394.84 points, or 3.64 percent, to close at 10,466.80 points.

All DAX 30 shares lost on the day. Aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero lost the most among the blue chips, down by 9.25 percent, followed by sportswear and equipment maker Adidas and semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies, which lost 7.34 percent and 6.69 percent respectively.

Multinational software corporation SAP was the most traded share of the day, with a turnover of 472.1 million euros (516.6 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
