Investors are still speculating on whether the Fed would raise the interest rate in the near term and the value of U.S. dollar rose against quite a lot of currencies. The blue-chip index added 53.04 points, or 0.54 percent.
Deutsche Bank led the risers’ list with an increase of 2.32 percent. Infineon Technologies, a semiconductor company, added 2.29 percent. Commerzbank climbed by 2.28 percent. Volkswagen rose by 1.99 percent. Deutsche Lufthansa went up by 1.38 percent.
On the other hand, ProSiebenSat1 Media dropped by 1.08 percent. The utilities company RWE slipped by 0.93 percent. BMW plunged by 0.8 percent. Continental slid by 0.65 percent. Another utilities company EON went down by 0.55 percent.
Daimler was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 211.5 million euros (around 237 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
