The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Thursday was little changed and lost only 23.37 points.
Most of the investors at the exchange have been in a buying mood since the European Central Bank (ECB) started to implement its quantitative easing program, according to local analysts. The blue-chip index closed at 11,899.4 points.
Deutsche Lufthansa AG topped the list of risers, up by 2.4 percent. Continental AG advanced by 1.95 percent. Volkswagen AG Vz added 1.43 percent. Deutsche Bank AG climbed by 1.21 percent and HeidelbergCement AG went up by 0.89 percent.
Siemens AG dropped the most by 4.18 percent. K+S Aktiengesellschaft, a standard and speciality fertilizers company, slipped by 3.62 percent. ThyssenKrupp AG dropped by 1.63 percent. The chemical company BASF SE slid by 0.75 percent and Deutsche Boerse AG went down by 0.58 percent.
