Airtel Ghana has once again supported the Ghana Cricket Association by presenting two sets of 17 branded jerseys for their international competitions to be held in the months of September and October in the Samoa Islands and South Africa respectively.
(top bet sports betting)The presentation took place at the cricket oval at the Achimota School following a mini tournament organized by the Association with sponsorship from the Indian High Commission, was to prepare the senior national cricket team for the upcoming world cup qualifiers of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Global Division 8 Tournament in Samoa Islands and an Africa Regional Division 2 qualifiers which qualifies a team to division 1 to be played in South Africa the following month. The branded jerseys will be used as the official playing kit for both tournaments.
Presenting the branded jerseys to the team, the Chief Operating Officer at Airtel Ghana, Mrinal Roy said the presentation of the kits was in fulfillment of Airtel Ghana?s promise to the cricket association after a similar presentation was done last year. Mr. Roy also said that ?one of our key corporate social responsibility pillars is sports and even though Airtel Rising Stars is our biggest sports initiative, we do support other sports initiatives like cricket which has been played in Ghana for a while now and is becoming more and more popular?. ?The Airtel brand is a youthful brand and we are happy that the game of cricket is catching on among Ghana?s young people just as it is in India?, he said.
The Indian High Commissioner who was present at the event said the Indian High Commission is keen on growing cricket in Ghana hence their sponsorship of the tournament.
The Ghana Cricket Association?s mandate is to develop and promote cricket in the country.
