Residents of Accra are expected to be worst affected in a new load shedding plan announced by the Ghana Grid Company.

Ghana will loose 300 megawatts of power daily as a result of the fact that oficials of the West African Gas Pipeline have failed to supply power to the thermal generation plants.

This officials of the Ghana Grid Company say has led to the implementation of a new load shedding exercise.

Head of Public Relations of the Company Albert Quainoo described the situation as ?critical.? He mentioned that,?engineers are on location working feverishly to resolve the problem and to bring the situation back to normal.

It has not been established when the exercise will be called off. But?Volta River Authority will continue to feed users of electricity with the hydro power they generate to the Electricity Company of Ghana.

ECG said, the new load shedding exercise will spread over the operational areas around the country, with Accra being the worse affected community.
