Ghana gas plant back in operation after mechanical repairs

Authorities said here late Thursday that the service from the Chinese-built Ghana Gas Processing Plant at Atuabo, 334 km west of the capital, has been restored following repairs of some mechanical faults.

The Ministry of Power announced on Wednesday that the Aboadze Thermal plant in the western port city of Takoradi, 218 km west of the capital, was receiving only limited Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from the gas processing plant due to a mechanical challenge.

The Ghana Gas engineers had assured Ghanaians of working round the clock to rectify the situation which had caused power distribution challenges to consumers.

The ministry added that engineers at Aboadze had therefore commenced preparatory works to receive Gas from Atuabo following the restoration. Enditem
